Initial assessment consultation
The initial assessment consultation format will vary according to the size of
your organisation. It would typically include:
- Meeting with Principal and person responsible for OHS to discuss your
school’s needs
- Touring school facilities to ascertain compliance
- Identifying and prioritising OHS areas for development
Initial consultation fee: $300 (approximately 2 hours)
Customised OH&S package to suit your school
Each school will be at a different stage of development regarding OH&S
Management, so I will tailor a package to suit the needs of your establishment.
Some examples of what Safe Schools can offer your school include:
- Working with OHS person to advise and assist with compliance
- Facilitating a staff meeting on risk management for excursions, sporting
activities, etc.
- If using Broken Bay’s OH&S Online, assist with unpacking its many
resources and use of the audit tool
- Establishing the policies & procedures required by law
- Setting up checklists for regular inspection of facilities
- Creating a system of Induction for visitors, new staff, contractors,
etc.
- Assisting with chemical management — Material Safety Data Sheets
- Revising emergency procedures — evacuation, lock down, etc.
- Advising on documented evidence required for compliance
